Our Story

For over 12 years, Lisa Garza Taste Studio has been catering cocktail parties, intimate dinners, and grand buffets. We attend to all of your catering needs offering custom designs, innovative events, and impeccable presentation standards. Our menu combines the comforting flavors of Northern Italy and Southern France with dynamic world cuisines We use only the highest quality domestic and imported products from around the world to create unique experiences in both taste and sight.

Our skilled team, led by acclaimed restaurateur Lisa Garza- Selcer, will work with you every step of the way to ensure the event is executed flawlessly. Our full-service staff will help create customized menus, coordinate vendors and staffing, provide florals and even assist in your venue search.

In addition to producing events under the Lisa Garza Taste Studio brand, we also run the highly acclaimed events program for Sissy’s Southern Kitchen & Bar.

Our Founder

Lisa’s passion for Southern culture and its culinary heritage stem from her upbringing in the Mississippi Delta, which also serves as the inspiration for her event and restaurant concepts. After working with award-winning chef Gilbert Garza at Suze for 15 years, Lisa branched out on her own to appear on the Next Food Network Star (finishing as the season’s runner up) and launched Lisa Garza Taste Studio. In 2012, Lisa returned to the restaurant scene and opened Sissy’s, garnering acclaim for its polished atmosphere and traditional Mississippi Delta cuisine. In 2016, Lisa plans to expand her restaurant footprint to include Shelby Hall offering a modern take on her culinary heritage.
